TEST TOMORROW (10/27)
Daniel Davis: October 2009 Archives
We began exploring the basis of chemical bonding. The notes are here:
A homework set was assigned for Wednesday:
p. 606, #1, 2, 4, 5
p. 614, #2, 3, 4
We completed two culminating activities for the ATOMS UNIT. The TEST is tomorrow, 10.23
We
compared webAssign problems to the questions on pp. 142-143, noticed the
similarities, and then worked # 91, 92, 94, 99
TEST announced (pending) for TUESDAY 27 OCTOBER
We compared forces on sliding objects at an angle to horizontal.
A new webAssign assignment has been posted and is due Thursday at Midnight.
We drew the models of atoms using the Bohr model (electrons in orbits). Students should be able to determine the following information from a drawing:
- Atomic Number
- Mass Number
- protons
- electrons
- neutrons
- group number
- oxidation number
- isotope qualities
We reiterated the reasoning between outer-shell electrons and Oxidation number, and began discussing the organization of the Periodic Table.
We discussed how our standard model of forces and frictions apply when our object is on an incline.
WebAssign is due at Midnight on Wednesday....
We continued our exploration of the properties of subatomic particles.
p. 511, #2,4
p. 515, #1,2,3,4,5,6
p. 524, #2, 3
These questions are due to be turned in on Monday, 12 October
