Monday- Friday
Students will be working on their paintings in the studio.
For the next two weeks students will be working on two assignments:
Drawing Portfolio- #1 we will begin a oil painting demonstration today. You will have a still life oil painitng due Monday Nov 1 for Critique
Drawing Portfolio Homework: Concentration or #2
#2 Draw or paint a composistion incorporating one or more culinary tools that describes them and their use. Done from direct composistion. Any media.
2D Portfolio-#1 Same as Drawing Portfolio assignments. For 2D portfolio make sure you are concentrating on the elements and prinicples. Use an interesting color combination or scheme.
Photo Portfolio:#1 Concentration in Black and White and or Color.
#2 Image and Text in Black and White and or Color. Remember one of your images must be done in Black and White.
Progress Grades and Blog Updates are due Monday Oct. 26. Each is worth 50 points. I will be looking at your research in your sketchbook and on your blog as well as your ideas and sketches in your sketchbook.
Monday-Friday
Students will be working on their value drawings of forms from direct observation. All 4 forms will be due on Monday Oct, 26.
New Sketchbook Assignment is: Do a 2 page spread inspired by your favorite song lyric. Please do not include the actual lyric in your composition. You may draw, paint, use collage what ever you want. Due date is Monday Nov. 2
Monday- sketchbooks on Self portrait due
Tuesday - Friday students will be working in darkroom, processing film and working on updating their blogs.
Monday Oct. 19 Critique on Lighting
Monday- Collect graphite shading organic and geometric shading homework
Tuesday- Thursday students will begin graphite shading of forms. Due Friday when they walk into class.
Friday- students will be working on sketchbooks assignement: Perspective
Monday- Students have practise painting due
Tuesday- Demonstration on building a canvas. Students will begin to stretch their own canvas and begin toning process
Wednesday- Half day for students
Thursday and Friday students will begin painting.
Painting due Oct.30
Monday and Tuesday students will continue to work in the studio on assignments.
Wednesday- half day for students
Thursday and Friday students will be having a critique on 2 pieces due.
In class assignments for the week:
Students will be working on sample painting in preparation for final painting. We will learning how to stretching our own canvas.
