CHS Art Boosters Club
...be a part of something amazing
What makes the difference at those schools that graduate more of their students and demonstrates high achievement? Most high schools
have sports programs -- but
every one of the top-performing schools in Georgia
also has a significant arts program. *
What is CHS ART BOOSTER CLUB?
We are parents, students, teachers, and community businesses who come together to enhance the visual arts experience of your student. We strive to encourage and promote the individual artistic development and expression of your student in a supportive enriched environment. We want your student to be proud of the choice they have made to pursue the arts whether for their personal enjoyment or for a career path.
Why does the Art Department need a booster club?
Every year funds are cut from classrooms nationwide and Art programs seem to be among the first. The art department has a limited budget that can only be spent on hard goods like supplies and equipment. Each year these funds are exhausted still leaving a huge gap of needs and wants. We want your student to be allowed to develop their artistic style in an environment where resources and supplies are readily available. Nothing is more frustrating than realizing you are out of the one item you needed! Also, through fundraising we can encourage and motivate your student by having professional styled juried art shows, prizes and scholarships.
What we do:
We host a Student Art Show in the Fall and Spring that rivals none in the southeast!
We attend field trips and competitions as chaperons.
We assist with matting art work for display and competition.
We fundraise for art scholarships, art shows, additional supplies and equipment.
We assist to maintain a website to provide communication and showcase student art work.
We assist in anyway we can to promote the Arts at CHS.
