You should have the image from which you will be working from for your perspective unit.

You will be beginning today. Please make sure you have the Style from which you will be working from wih you.

The finished piece is due Friday May 6th when you walk into class. We will be having a critique on your drawings.

We will begin our unit on Gesture Monday May 9th.

April 11- April 15

This week you will complete your color oil pastel or acyrlic paintings. If you need to take it home Thursday night to finish you may. All Paintings are due for our critique Friday.

Monday we will beginning our unit on Visual Perspective Drawing; Representing Depth in A Picture Plane.

Homework: Read Chapter 6 The Formal Elements: Perspective in Drawing as Expression

Answer the following questions attached to the document:

Sketchbook Assignment:

Find examples of the following from magazines: 1 point persective, two point persepective, 3 point perspective, foreshortening and atmospheric perspective. DO NOT PRINT OUT IMAGES FROM THE INTERNET. IF YOU DO THEY WILL BE COUNTED WRONG. YOU MAY ONLY USE MAGAZINES. Please label each example. DUE DATE IS WEDNESDAY APRIL 20.

This week you will be completing your paintings in class on color from observation using underpainting, oil pastel or colored pencil.

March 14-18

We will be grading and critiqueing your graphite drawings today. We will also be viewing a powerpint on color and taking notes.

Tuesday you will begin micro labs on color and technique for learning oil pastel and colored pencil.

You will work on your color micro labs until Friday and they are all due Monday when you walk into class.

Your sketchbook assignnment is due Wednesday.

March 7- March 11

Monday-Thursday you will be finishing your neg. powered graphite drawing.

Friday- We will have a critique on your graphite drawing and your powered graphite drawing.

Sketchbooks are due this Wednesday March 2 at the beginning of the period.

You will be working to complete your in class drawing/value still life due Wednesday.

Thursday we will beginning the powdered graphite neg. drawing technique this drawing will be due next Thursday at the end of class March 10.

Sketchbook assignment: Due Friday March 11

Complete a two page spread on what you have learned about value. The following requirements are:

2 page spread

Pencil

Value range from 2 to 9

Touches all four sides of the page.

1/2 must be done from observation

1/2 done from other sources

Today you have two homework pieces due.

We are having a critique on your Contour line Drawings.

Turn in your best 5 homework drawings from last week and the weekend.

Tomorrow we will begin our Unit 2 on Value please bring in your drawing pencils to begin using. We will be reading the chapter on Value in the book Drawing as Expression and taking notes. Your notes are due Wednesday when you walk into class.

You will have homework everyday this week.  We will be doing the homework in your sketchbooks so make sure you have your sketchbook everyday this week in class.

 

Jan. 31- Feb.4

This week we will begin our final assignment for Contour line and cross contour line. These drawings will be due Friday at the end of class.

Homework this week.

Monday- Wrap an object in cloth and draw it.

Tuesday-Crumple a brown paper bag and draw it from an interesting perspective.

Wednesday- Go in your garage and draw a from an intereseting point of view. Cover the entire page!

Thursday- Using tools from around your house construct a robot using the tools to draw from. A screwdriver might be the body a fork could be the legs.... You get it. Cover the page include interesting patterns or drawings in the background. Use the shadow as part of your composition.

Friday-Sunday build a fort in your room. Draw a view from the inside and from the outside.

Today and this weeknwe are exploring cross contour line in our in class drawing today.  Cross contour lines decribe the inner and outer edges of objects. They begin to desribe volume and weight as well as detail. 

Homework Monday- Set up 3 objects that desribe your personality.  Pay close attention to cross contour and contour.  Make sure you draw the shadow and work on creating an interesting composition.

Homework Tuesday-  Draw 3 objects that tell a secret.

Homework Wednesday- Draw a 3 objects that represent a fear of yours.

Homework Thursday- Draw a portrait of a family member from observation.

Homework Friday- Draw a cluttered area of your home.
