In class/Studio Assignment: Series of 4 Non-objective Paintings - Student will brainstorm ideas in their journals for a series of 4 non objective paintings - Each painting will use one of the color schemes - Monochromatic, Analogous, Split Compliment and Triad - each work needs to be able to stand alone but also, the four need to have some unifying quality to make them work together.
· Monday - View Power Point - Compare and Contrast different Non-objective art - How do the artists make use of color to show meaning? How have the artists used/activated negative space? How have the artists created emotion? Unity?
· Tuesday - Finish Brainstorming in journals. Begin drawing designs onto paper - when finished with drawing, begin painting.
· Wednesday - Continue non-objective paintings Journals Due Today - color schemes and Notes from Chapter 6
· Thursday - Continue non- objective paintings
· Friday - Work in journals
Journal Assignment: Create a 2 page "bleed" inspired by a favorite song / lyric - include the words to the song or lyric and also embellish the page to relate
