Essential Question: What is a contour line drawing?

Monday:  Watch blublu.org videos to use as inspiration for upcoming assignment
Tuesday:  Begin by completing a predrawing of hands -- Discuss contour line, drawing on the right side of the brain, and perception
HW:  Complete patterns page in sketchbook - due Thursday
Wednesday: Demo on blind contour line drawing - Students will begin by completing blind contour line drawings working their way to 10/90 drawings
Thursday:  Continue practicing contour line - incorporate pattern into drawings
Friday:  Begin coming up with at least 6 thumbnail sketches incorporating your contour line drawings of hands and patterns.

Monday: Quiz on Elements of Art and Principles of Design - Finish Elements and Principles search.

Tuesday: View power point on Sketchbooks and discuss how they will be used in this class.

Monday/25th :  Working in sketchbook on last sketchbook assignment - 2 page spread, revisiting "what is art?" - counts as 2 sketchbook grades!!

Tuesday/26th : Working on sketchbook page and plans for recycled sculpture

Wednesday/27th : Working on sketchbook page and plans for recycled sculpture- plans due today

Thursday/28th : Working in sketchbooks

Friday/29th : working in sketcbooks

 

Monday/2nd  - Friday/6th: working on recycled sculpture - due Friday

 

Monday/9th: View value powerpoint - demo on value scales - begin value scales

Tuesday/10th: working on value scales (due today) - demo on sphere - begin sphere when done

Wednesday/11th: working on shading sphere - demo on cylinder -begin cylinder when done

Tuesday: Quiz over chapter 1  - Critique on Color Paintings - self assess  - HW: Print images of 4 different animals (4 views of each - front, back, side, from above) and of a few professions (details of objects that relate to profession - ex: doctor: stethoscope, white jacket, clipboard, etc)
