Monday- Critique on two pieces. All photo people need to only put up 8x10's regardless of weather or not you shot color.

In class/studio assignment: Students will be working on their two breath pieces.

Drawing- Choice HW and line in class piece Perspective
2D- Line and choice HW
In class/studio assignment: Students will be working on a contour line drawing of their hands adding repetition by using different patterns and inspiration from their research on graffiti artists.
Monday- I will be moving students in to groups according to the amount of work they have completed thus far. There will be 5 groups of six photographers.
I will be collecting your vocabulary on Monday.

One group will be learning how to roll film
The remaining students will be working on sketchbook assignment 1 and 2
Assignment 1- Compose one 2 page spread around what you concider to be your best image as of today. Please talk about why you think it is a good photography, how you made it, when you made it. Please use excellent composition skills.
Assignment 2: Compose one 2 page spread about Point of View. Please read about Point of View (Perspective) in our photography book The Photographic Eye pages 137-147
Please take notes on pages 137-147 due Friday August 21

LINE AS A DESIGN ELEMENT
Shoot 1 roll of film which focuses on line as a design element. Make sure you are going beyond the cliché images that come to mind, such as the inside of a umbrella, a window, a door, planks of wood, trees................
You will need to complete 1 two page spread exploring line as seen in master's work.

Objective: To create a drawing in your best meduim that demonstrates your understanding of perspective from a bird's eye point of view.

Monday- Turn in Vocab
We will continue our reading of shutter and aperature speeds. Students should be shooting POINT OF VIEW concentrating on making every shot different. They should also be taking a light reading.
Students need to be buying Kodak Tri-x 400 film or they may order Artista Prem. 400 asa film from Freestyle.
Point of View is due August 20
Tuesday- Students will be reading shutter speeds and apertures as well as working in sketchbooks My Best Photo and Point of View. Studetns will create one two page spread for each assignment.

Wednesday- Friday Students who have shot their roll of film will be begin learning how roll film while other groups will be working on research and sketchbooks
Tuesday- Introductions, class expectations and syllabus
Wednesday- Please bring in the camera you have so I can make sure it works and it is usable. Chapter 1 reading and notes
Thursday- Quiz chapter 1. Start reading chapter The Camera Lens take notes
Friday- Begin the parts of the camera
Tuesday- Class will be going over syllabus and expectations
