Scholarships Available to Area High School Seniors

The Greater North Fulton Chamber of Commerce, through its Education Committee, announced it will award two scholarships this year to area high school students. Seniors attending Alpharetta, Chattahoochee, Centennial, Milton, Northview and Roswell High Schools are eligible to apply for either the George Wills Memorial Scholarship or the Bruce Wood Memorial Scholarship.

GNFCC Education Committee Chairman Andy Macke, Vice President, Government and Community Affairs for Comcast Cable Communications, announced applications were currently being accepted for the two scholarships. The George Wills Memorial Scholarship, created in 1981, aims to assist an outstanding business student with a $1,000 scholarship. The Bruce Wood Memorial Scholarship, created in 1984, aims to assist an outstanding senior who will attend a recognized trade/technical school through its $2,000 scholarship.

Students may apply for only one GNFCC scholarship. Applications are available at www.gnfcc.com/education and must be submitted by May 1, 2010. Questions about the George Wills Memorial Scholarship or the Bruce Wood Memorial Scholarship may be directed to Debbie Ryals, GNFCC Director of Communications & Events, at 770-993-8806, ext. 306.
