Traditional "Face-to-Face" Summer School Information

Summer school will be held June 1st through June 22nd at Centennial High School in North Fulton County and at Banneker High School in South Fulton County.  1st period classes will be 7:30 to 11:35, lunch will be 11:35 to 12:00, and 2nd period classes will be 12:00 to 4:05.  Summer school registration will begin Monday May 3rd and continue through Friday May 21st.  Please see your counselor to register for classes and go to www.chattcougar.com for more information.  Remember:  classes are filled on a first come, first served basis, so register as soon as possible!

REGISTRATION PROCEDURE:

1. Student obtains information packet from either the CHS Counseling Office or from the Chattahoochee website www.chattcougar.com

2. Student meets with his/her counselor to obtain registration form for course selection approval for one or two periods (maximum of one total credit).

3. Student returns the completed form (including parent and student signatures) and submits payment during designated times listed below. 

***Final deadline for registration is 4:00pm on May 21st!   

PAYMENT AND REGISTRATION FORM COLLECTION: Payment and registration forms will be collected in the Counseling Office from 10:00am to 1:30pm and in the Front Office from 8:00am to 10:00am and also from 1:30pm to 4:00pm. 

 SUMMARY OF TUITION PAYMENT:

• Each half-credit course is $225 ($180 for free meal students ONLY)

• Each full-credit course is $450 ($360 for free meal students ONLY)

• Full payment is due at time of registration  

No student will be allowed to register if he/she has unpaid fees/fines  

No cash will be accepted.  Tuition must be paid by personal check, money order, or cashier check (made payable to Chattahoochee HS).  Personal checks returned for insufficient funds will incur a penalty 

• Review refund policy (see High School Rules flyer)

SUMMARY OF SUMMER SCHOOL SCHEDULE:

• Summer school will be at Centennial HS in North Fulton and at Banneker HS in South Fulton.  There will only be bus transportation to Centennial HS for students living in North Fulton; no bus transportation will be provided to Banneker HS for students living in North Fulton.  Buses will pick up students from their home school and transport them to Centennial HS only at the beginning of the day and at the end of the day.  Students taking only 1 course in Summer School will need to arrange for another form of transportation in the middle of the day. 

• There will be one 16-day session beginning Tuesday, June 1st and ending Tuesday, June 22nd

• There will be two periods:  Period 1 will meet from 7:30 am - 11:35 am and Period 2 will meet from 12:00 pm - 4:05 pm.  One class may be taken each period.  Students may only be on campus for the duration of their class(es) and lunch.

• For students taking only one semester of a year-long course, Period 1 will correspond to Semester 1, and Period 2 will correspond to Semester 2 except for courses with an associated EOCT.  In these cases, Semester 2 courses, as well as Economics, will only be offered in Period 1.

• For students taking a complete year-long course (for example, both semesters of Algebra II), the first eight days of Periods 1 and 2 will correspond to Semester 1, and the second eight days of Periods 1 and 2 will correspond to Semester 2

• Most courses are not available to students wishing to take them for the first time (see Course Offerings flyer for specific availability)

• All course availability is subject to enrollment and staffing

• Final course lists and schedules will be posted on the Fulton County Schools Website (www.fultonschools.org) on Friday, May 28th  

OTHER IMPORTANT NOTES:

• Breakfast will be served in the cafeteria at the same cost as during the regular school year

• Lunch will be served in the cafeteria from 11:35 - 12:00 at the same cost as during the regular school year

Attendance and promptness are mandatory.  Please read the High School Rules information carefully.  

Due to the fact that summer school registration ends prior to the posting of 2nd semester grades, students may wish to register for a course if there is a strong possibility of failing the course. Students may receive a refund in the event that a passing grade is received in the course as long as the refund request is made in writing to the summer school principal or counselor no later than Tuesday, June 1.

***Registration for the summer administration of the Georgia High School Graduation Test (GHSGT) and Remediation is a separate process. Please see your counselor for information about the GHSGT remediation classes and GHSGT re-tests!
