Details:
Scholarship program open to high school seniors who are of African American, American Indian/Alaska Native, Asian Pacific Islander American, or Hispanic American descent.  Applicants must be a citizen, national, or legal permanent resident of the United States. Applicants need a 3.3 GPA on an unweighted 4.0 scale, will enroll in an accredited college or university fall 2011, and have demonstrated leadership abilities through participation in community service, extracurricular or other activities. Students must meet the Federal Pell Grant eligibility criteria. Three forms required:

1. Nominee Form (student application)

2. Nominator Form for the applicant 

3. Recommender Form for the applicant must be submitted by the deadline.

                                                                                                        Details: The Ron Brown Scholar Program offers college scholarships to outstanding African American students to honor the legacy of service of the late Secretary of Commerce Ronald H. Brown. Upon acceptance, Scholars are each awarded $40,000 ($10,000 per year for 4 years) that can used at the college or university of their choice. : Out-of-State Scholarships for 2011-2012

Capstone Scholar  An out-of-state first-time freshman student who meets the December 1st scholarship priority deadline, has a 27 ACT or 1210-1240 SAT score and at least a 3.5 cumulative GPA will be selected as a Capstone Scholar and will receive $1,500 per year ($6,000 over four years).

Collegiate Scholar  An out-of-state first-time freshman student who meets the December 1st scholarship priority deadline, has a 28-29 ACT or 1250-1320 SAT score and at least a 3.5 cumulative GPA will be selected as a Collegiate Scholar and will receive $3,500 per year ($14,000 over four years).

UA Scholar  An out-of-state first time freshman student who meets the December 1st scholarship priority deadline, has a 30-31 ACT or 1330-1390 SAT score and at least a 3.5 cumulative GPA will be selected as a UA Scholar and will receive 2/3 tuition for four years.

Presidential Scholar  An out-of-state first-time freshman student who meets the December 1st scholarship priority deadline, has a 32-36 ACT or 1400-1600 SAT score and at least a 3.5 cumulative GPA will be selected as a Presidential Scholar and will receive the value of out-of-state tuition for four years.
