The Miss Georgia Teen USA Pagent ( scholarsip to be awarded)

If you are single (never married, never had a child), a United States
citizen, a resident of the state of Georgia, At least 14 and less than 19 as of February 1, 2012, you are eligiable to apply.
As a delegate, you will be judged in three equal categories
consisting of Personal Interview, Swimsuit, and Evening Wear,
and you will participate in two exciting stage shows.
Performing talent is not a requirement.

The 2012 MISS GEORGIA USA and MISS GEORGIA TEEN USA state event will be held
November 17-19, 2011, at the Woodland Perfmoring Arts Center in Cartersville, Georgia.


To become a contestant in this year's event,
submit the information below and attach a recent photo.

Your photo does not need to be professional. Please make sure the attached file is not over 3MB is size. If you do not have a digital version of your photo, you can also submit it by mail. Any photo submitted by mail will not be returned.

The winner of our Pageant will embark on a jouney that will include receiving a price package, including a $1000 cash award and scholarships to various universities. The winner will receive a scholarship to Lindenwood University worth $45,600.  This young woman will also receive a scholarship valued at $16000 from O'More College of Design in Franklin, TN. Each of the runners-up will receive Lindenwood scholarships $40,000 and the semifinalists will each receive a Lindenwood scholarship valued at $29,600. The four runners-up will receive O'More College of Design scholarships valued at $8,000.






Georgia Tech's chapter of Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity scholarship

Attention Georgia Tech-bound males!

Georgia Tech's chapter of Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity presents an exciting
opportunity in the form of a scholarship. Lambda Chi Alpha will award two or
three scholarships in amounts of anywhere from $300 to $700 (final amounts
still to be determined) to incoming male Georgia Tech freshmen. The criteria
for this scholarship is based on our seven core values, which are loyalty,
duty, respect, service/stewardship, honor, integrity, and personal courage. We
will award the scholarship based on academic, athletic, and civic involvements,
among other things.

Bruce Wood Memorial Scholarship Application

Created in 1984, the Bruce Wood Memorial Scholarship aims to assist outstanding business
students who are enrolled in school, working for school credit and will attend a trade/technical
school the following academic year. Students enrolled in a North Fulton high school are eligible for the $2,000 scholarship. The GNFCC Education Committee oversees the selection process.

George Wills Memorial Scholarship

Created in 1981, the George Wills Memorial Scholarship aims to assist outstanding business
students who are working. Students from Alpharetta, Centennial, Chattahoochee, Milton,
Northview and Roswell High Schools are eligible for the $1,000 scholarship. The Greater North
Fulton Chamber of Commerce oversees the selection process.

Application must be received by May 1, 2010.

Tailwheels scholarship for acelerated fligt training

Tailwheels Etcetera, of Winter Haven Florida, is sponsoring a scholarship contest that will reward one high school student to earn his or her private license for free.

For all High school students: age 17 and up

Applicants must create a 30 second YouTube video about why they would benefit from receiving a private pilot's license, and post it to the wall of the Tailwheels Scholarship Facebook page.

Be creative and have fun with it. the videos will not be judged on technical perfection, but rather on enthusiasm and creativity. You may create your film using anything that produces a YouTube submittable video, including a video camera or even a cellphone.

In the video applicants must:

Mention Tailwheels Etc. and use one or more of the following keywords/key word phrases

  • "Flight School"
  • "Flying Lessons"
  • "How to Learn to Fly"
  • "Flight School in Florida"
  • "High School to Flight School"
  • "Flight School Training"
  • "Air Flight School"

The video should be named using one of the above keywords/phrases, your first initial and last name along with the date, (ex: learn-to-fly-tmartin-032011 ).

Post your video to our wall before midnight May 20th , where it will initially be evaluated by your peers.

Videos will be judged based on their content as well as how many likes and positive comments they receive.

After peer judging has occurred, the staff of Tailwheels Etc will judge the top 250 videos. The final decision on the winner of the scholarship will lie with the owner of Tailwheels Etc.

Judging will be completed, and the winner(s) will be announced on May 31st

Dates of training for the grand prize winner will be July 8th -22nd 2011

Requirements

  • Applicant must be a US citizen high school student residing in the United States, Puerto Rico, or Guam.
  • Applicant must be 17 years or older at the time of training
  • Video must be submitted to the Tail Wheels Scholarship Facebook wall no later than midnight (EST) May 20th.
  • If applicant is under the age of 18, he/she must have written parental consent to receive flight training.
  • Grand Prize winner will be required to supply his/her own transportation to Tailwheels Etc

Prizes-

Everything needed to get a Private Pilot's License.

-Includes all flight time, flight instructor, written test, flight test and books.

Accommodations will be provided, however meals will be the sole responsibility of the student.

Grand Prize winner will receive initial notification through Facebook, and will receive all necessary study materials (along with a parental consent form if necessary) in the mail shortly after receipt of contact details. Consent form must be returned to Tailwheels Etc. on or before the day training commences.

*Note: Please use the 1 month between the contests end and arrival at the flight school to study all written materials. You will have to take a written exam before you will be allowed to do any actual flight training. A score of 80 or better is required for enrollment in FAA 141.

Second Prize

A number of runners up will be provided with the opportunity for a free Discovery Flight with one of the following 9 Flight Centers.

College Peas Standout Student Scholarship

To qualify for the scholarhsip you must be a current high school student and:

Be a current high school student that Intends to enroll full-time at a four-year college
Have a minimun GPA of 2.0/4.0
Submit a short esay describing a special skill, talent or interest that helps you standout from your peers. The essay should be no longer than 100 words.

Gardner Webb University nominated Junior Scholarship

|
This Scholarship is offered to juniors from each high school in your state. The students that the counselor nominate will receive a minumum $2000 scholarship if they enroll at Gardner Webb University in the fall of 2012. The be condidered for this honor, each student must be ranked in thetop 25% of his/her junior class, and demonstrate superior academic and leardership ptential.
