2011 Elks National Foundation Most Valuable Scholarships

1. Eligibility: Any high school senior who is a US citizen. Male and female students complete separated for identical awards.
2. Two one time  financial awards of $1250 and two of $750 will be made at district level.
     Three one time awards fo $2000 will be made at the state level.
     National level: at least $1000 per year for 4 years.

  • Trustee Scholarship - Boston University 's most prestigious scholarship recognizes outstanding academic performance and leadership ability.
  • Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Scholarship - recognizes students who have embraced the ideals of Dr. King and who have demonstrated a strong commitment to social justice and community involvement. Students must also present very strong academic records.
  • Alexander Graham Bell Scholarship - recognizes students with strong math and science abilities who have the potential to thrive at BU's College of Engineering .
  • The School of Education Presidential Scholarship - for academically gifted students who will be the teachers of tomorrow.

University of Evansville scholarships information

Academic  Scholarship- range from $5000 to $15000 per year

Dean's scholarship-  $19,000 -$21,500 per year, students have a high school GPA of 4.0 and score 27 or higher on ACT or  1800 or higher on SAT.

Fine and Performing Arts scholarship- $5000 to 15000 per year for students majoring in art, music or theatre. Auditions or portfolio presentations are required.

National Need for Nurses Scholarship-$18000 per year for students who meet direct entry criteria to the nursing program and have a high school GPA 3.5 or higher and score 23or higher on ACT or 1530 or higher on SAT.

Toyota Scholars- for engineering and/or  computer science majors,. Students will receive a $14000-$15000scholarship per year. GPA at least 3.7, SAT al least 1710, Act at least 25.

Trustee Scholarship- $19000 to full-tuition scholarship for students who are ranked number one in their senior class at the time of application.

University of Evansville Scouting Award- $14000-$15000 per year award for students who have earned the Boy Scouts of America Eagle Scout , girl Scouts of USA Gold Award, Sea Scout Quartermaster Award or Venturing Silver Award.  GPA at least 3.5 and SAT 1530 or higher, or ACT 23 or higher.

The Gate City Bar Association Judicial Section scholarship

Sponsored by: The Gate City Bar Association Judicial Section is awarding scholarships to two Georgia graduating high school seniors and to 4 college seniors.

Criteria: Scholarship will be awarded to applicants who demonstrate one or more of criteria, including academic achievement, leadership, a demonstrated interest in  the legal profession and a strong commitment to the community. Financial need will be considered, but is not a prerequisite. A strong candidate will highlight involvement in programs that demonstrate an interest in the legal profession as well as leadership abilities.

Requirements:
Seniors who currently enrolled at a high school within a Comcast Community
Grade point average of 2.8 or higher
Demonstrate leadership abilities in school activities or through work experiences
Strong commitment to and involvement in community service
Plan to attend an accredited, nonprofit college, university, or vocational/technical school in US
Be able to verify nomination by entering the Comcast school Code(CSC), provided by the principal or guidance counselor.
